How to Ship Your Items

Now that you know how to sell your items online, the last thing you have to do is ship the item to the buyer.

First you will need supplies to pack your shipments in.  Here are the supplies I use…
(MY QUICKSTART GUIDE AND EBOOK HAVE PHOTOS OF EACH OF THESE SUPPLIES IF YOU NEED THEM)

Order your Free Priority Mail Boxes and Envelopes
Go to https://www.usps.com/get-mailing-shipping-supplies.htm ,
Select “Priority Mail”

Here are the items that I always keep in stock
Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope 9 ½” x 12 ½”
Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box (both sizes)
Priority Mail Box 4 (7”x 7”x 6”)
Priority Mail Box 1097   (11” x 13” x 2”)
Priority Mail Box 1095   (15” x 12” x 3”)
Priority Mail Box 1092   (12” x 13” x 2”)
Priority Mail Shoe Box
Priority Mail Box – 7   (12” x 12” x 8”) (I only use on occasion)
Priority Mail Medium Tube or Small Tube (rarely use, but good for bats and golf clubs)

Padded Mailing Envelopes
Most of the items I ship are in padded mailing envelopes.
I use 3 different sizes.
Small #0 6.5 x 10 Kraft Paper Bubble Padded Mailers
(I buy the extra-wide size because it fits Video Games and DVDs easier)
Medium #2 8.5 x 12 Poly Bubble Padded Mailers
(I use these for items that won’t fit in the smaller envelopes but are still under 13oz)
Large #5 10.5 x 16 Kraft Paper Bubble Padded Mailers
(I use these mostly for textbooks and occasionally something this large under 13oz)

Shipping Scale
Any scale that can handle small 3oz items and up to 40lbs would be good.
I use this one http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-Scales-Table-Postal/dp/B004W7IOV4/

Shipping Labels
I have used several and they are not all created equal.
Here are the labels I use
http://garagesalecoach.com/shippinglabels
I prefer the labels with rounded corners that are for 4.25 x 6.25 because they fit on my envelopes and don’t start to peel up on the corners.

Other Supplies You Will Need
A Computer and Printer (Laser Printer is Cheaper on Ink in the long run)
Packing Tape (I prefer the large rolls and the dispenser with the handle)
Packing Peanuts (I buy them in 40 gallon bags at the UPS store)
2 Trifold Project Boards for a Good Photo Taking Area (Optional, but helpful)
Also helpful, Packing Paper and Bubble Wrap

Printing Your Shipping Labels

Both eBay and Amazon have built in shipping systems to create shipping labels online and purchase your shipping, so all you have to do is put the label on the package and give it to your mailman or UPS driver!

You can find Video Tutorials here that show you have to create your shipping labels.
Video Tutorials

I will soon be creating a couple videos showing you how to pack and ship your items, but I haven’t done that yet, so in the meantime here is a video on YouTube from an ebayer that is very helpful.
